Account, security and deletion
Protect your login, manage personal preferences and understand workspace closure.
Manage your own account
Settings contains your personal profile, appearance, language preferences and security options alongside company settings. Edit the personal fields offered by the form and save. Company-wide controls require additional permission. Changing your display name does not create a new workforce record or transfer ownership of old transactions.
Use the application language switch for daily work and the documentation language switch for this guide. Documentation remembers its own preference. A link from an in-app help hint can open the guide in the language you were using.
Set a password and a second sign-in check
Change your password through Security using your current password and the new password required by the form. If you cannot sign in, use Forgot password rather than asking someone to share their login.
To enable two-factor authentication, start setup, confirm your password, scan the QR code with an authenticator app or use the manual key, and enter the generated code to finish. Save the recovery codes somewhere private and separate from the phone. Setup is not complete until the code is verified. When disabling 2FA, provide the required password and verification code.
A session can end because of inactivity, a permission or membership change, maintenance, or a plan’s user cap. If signing in again does not work, use Troubleshooting. Never send a password, authenticator secret, recovery code or portal login link to support.
Close the whole workspace only when intended
Self-service account deletion requires Settings management permission and paid access. It is organization deletion, not removal of one team member. For a departing employee, manage their user access instead. Export needed records first if you have export permission and paid access.
In the deletion flow, confirm your password to request the email code. Enter the six-digit code within 15 minutes and type the exact phrase “delete my account” when asked. Confirmation deactivates the organization and begins a 30-day grace period. Use the reactivation link provided by email within that period if the closure was a mistake. Once the data is purged, the reactivation flow cannot restore it.
Free and trial workspaces can use the public deletion contact form. You do not have to purchase a subscription to request erasure. Account deletion and subscription cancellation have different effects; review both before closing the business workspace.
Company-wide action
Deletion affects the organization and its users. Do not use it to clear a few sample rows or remove a single employee.
